How to Wire / Hang Small Plate for a Mobile?

Hello Rena,

I would like to put a question out before the community of folks who read your journal.

I am in the planning stages of constructing a sculpture for my backyard garden. I have included a rough sketch of the project for reference.

The main structure of my standing sculpture is going to be thick copper tubing, and I want to hang colorful, transparent glass plates from this.

My problem is that I have not been able to think of a way to do this that does not involve obscuring the middle area of the plate in some way or another.

So I am asking for some suggestions.
