It gave me the opportunity to organize my supplies and now I have a new workroom. I have been making jewelry just for myself recently but it is a slow process getting back to creating to sale.

I’ve had one major move, and it certainly took time away from working on my jewellery. But I’ve also found my style has really evolved since the move, and is continuing to do so. It’ll be interesting to see if you notice any differences when you get back to creating.

My jewelry business has been a way to start friendships, connect with other creative people, and let customers express themselves with my designs. Over the past year, I started a new job, moved twice and have not been actively working at my business but just starting again because that is what I missed most.

It was fun to re-read this story from a long time ago. Last week I was editing my photos and saw the picture of the bracelet again, but had forgotten the part where I wired the clasp shut!! 😀

My goodness … thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for such kind words!!

I feel so blessed myself to get to do this wonderful thing, and desire for my work to be a blessing to others. So your words went down deep. Thank you again.

I have been starting to submit to this website on a regular basis, so there’s lots more to see. I’m so grateful for this wonderful vehicle, and to Rena for providing it.

It is neat to be handed a pile of unhappy jewellery, things you might not normally work with, and see what you can create with it. I too especially liked my “bracelet-with-no-clasp”. 😀 Your comment about liking the black cord is interesting, because normally I’m not really a black-cord kind of girl, as a first choice.

It’s the colour for me – I don’t have one article of black clothing in my closet, as a conscious choice, and don’t gravitage toward black for my design elements. However, sometimes I end up with black beads and black cords in my stash, and do use them.

I was thinking after I posted this that I’m not sure I made it very clear that I’m not remaking another individual handmade jewellery artists’ work. I sell my individual creations wholesale to my friend, but her other line is a wholesale line strictly.

And my purpose in sharing this was to show how we can be very useful to retailers of wholesale jewellery who may be in the position of having unsellable stock. I support Liana in her sale of this line rather than trying to compete with it. For my birthday she gave me a pair of earrings from this line, and I love them.

But the relationship is the most important thing, and you’re right Rena, I know she totally trusts me, and it’s a win-win situation. It’s been an incredible blessing to me.

I wasn’t sure if I should put this entry under business ideas, or under jewellery stories, because for me, this was an opportunity to tell my story of how I began in the jewellery business, and the relationship I have with my still-most-important customer. And I’ve been wanting to share it because I think it’s a very neat story.

It sounds like you work really well together in all kinds of win-win ways, and have complementary talents.

And most important, you can trust each other.

I love the pieces you shared above – especially the bracelet with no clasp. It’s a gorgeous design – the black cord gives it so much depth and drama, while perfectly showcasing the beads and wirework.

Thank you for sharing this peek into a lovely jewelry business friendship, and how well it works for both of you. I really enjoyed hearing about it!
