But I always start with a foot of cord regardless of the size I am making. It’s better to have more cord than too little. Extra length makes tying knots easier, especially for larger hands.
Have fun!

I make them to be a finished length of about 7.25-7.75 inches. I cut about 10.5 inches of cord for this length.

IMPORTANT: Before you cut lengths of cord, remember to gently pre-stretch the cord a couple of times.

After stringing the beads, I do a square knot, then surgeon’s/square knot and dab with hypo cement. I let it cure for 24 hrs.

When trimming the excess cord (there’s about 1.5 inches excess on each end), I pull an end taut from the knot, then trim as close as possible to the knot. Repeat for the other end.

Lastly, I scrape off the excess glue with needle nose pliers and my nails.
Hope this helps!

If you use small beads, you can make the bracelet shorter. if you use fat/large beads, you need to make it longer. Since stretchy cord is cheap(relatively) I would say cut about 12 inches, and fit to your wrist, tie, then cut off the excess.
