It’s actually a child’s toy; however, it works very well for twisting. I’ve been doing a lot of short twists with various threads and such…works very well for me! They have an instructional video on You Tube. They can be purchased at Michaels and such for around $15.

It dries clear and is bendable. I may be wrong but I can see it working.

To twist two cords (leather or fabric) and for them to stay twisted, you must twist each cord in the same direction, opposite the direction the two cords are being twisted together.
If you don’t know what I mean, try it out this way: take one single length of cord, twist it alone, holding one end in each hand. When it is very twisted, try folding it in half, without untwisting it. The cord will wrap itself together effortlessly.
You can do the same with two separate cords.
