That’s a huge reason I don’t do shows right now.

I typically take either pendants to be wire-wrapped or earrings to be assembled – something that I can pack all the components into one ziplock baggie. I take a selections of wire materials, chains, and cording as well.

This makes it simple to quickly put together extenders for necklaces and earrings, leather strap necklaces for pendants, etc. I can quickly make new earwires for customers wanting a different color or style, as well.

In addition, I find many people are intimidated to enter a booth when it’s slow and they’re the only one shopping. If you’re friendly and welcoming, but your focus seems to be on the project instead of dragging them in and giving a high-pressure sales talk, they seem to enter the booth space more readily.

Rena’s design (slightly adapted) for button rings often draws little girls into my booth who are enthralled with the idea that I’ll make a ring specifically for them while they wait with the button they’ve picked out. While they’re waiting, Mom will often find something she loves as well. If not, we’ve made a friend who has our business card with web address so they can see other items we have available.
