I love your idea! I have a beautiful gold pin that belonged to my late Dad, who was a Captain in the Air Force. I’ve always loved the pin but couldn’t figure out a way to make it into a pendant. It has 2 beautiful gold wings with an insignia in the middle. I think I’ll add a gold chain on the end of each wing and a small silver heart on top of the insignia. I want it to symbolize my Dad’s memory.

I’m a newbie to soldering and I have a mesh screen setup that I haven’t tried yet. It sounds like the perfect solution to stop blowing away parts with the torch. I only have a large microtorch but have managed to scatter more than one component off the soldering block!
