In this piece, my love of wire work and crystals came together as so many of my creations do… in a surprise!

Tibetan Quartz Trio in Steel and Copper Frame

I usually start with something rather specific in mind, but during the process I tend to take a few twists and turns in the path and usually end up with something quite different than what I originally envisioned.

I began with a round frame in dark annealed steel and attached a piece of aluminum screen fabric using steel wire and copper beads.

Choosing the crystals is where my path changed direction, and these three pieces of Tibetan Quartz just happened to nestle together perfectly to create the focal point of the piece. A copper jump ring and steel neck wire completed my new vision.
