I am in my late 70’s and addicted to beading and continue to add to my stash! I will certainly use your ideas for gifting to customers and friends. I also donate to “Dress for Success” as I feel it is a very worthwhile organization.

Dear Kathy, I am in my 60’s and have been giving beaded gifts for years. I think that is a wonderful idea. I even wear certain pieces when I go shopping and when someone says they like it, I take it off and give it to them! I love to see the different reactions! One cashier said she was going on a cruise and the necklace was a perfect match for one of her outfits! I KNOW I’ll never use all the hundreds of thousands of beads I own but I keep buying more. I just updated my wardrobe and bought new beads yesterday to make matching jewelry, even though I had plenty of beads to make matching sets. I buy, sell and give and am so grateful for the ability to do all three! Thank you for sharing! Some of my acquaintances say I’m loopy for giving so much away but that’s one of the few things I can do that brings me joy and it doesn’t cost a thing!

I have not done this yet myself, but I have been on the receiving end and I agree that it creates a lot of goodwill if the added gift is nice/useful. I received a beautiful piece of leather cord (1 yard) from an Etsy leather shop the other day – that guaranteed that I will shop with them again and again. It was a very special treat, because it was similar to what I ordered from them (same size) but a different color, and enough that I could use it to make a few things. If I ordered something from you and you enclosed a treat like one of your pretty bracelets, I would be a repeat customer for sure!
