Tarnished Silver Plated Brass Clasps

I have been using silver plated brass clasps for my necklaces but have noticed they tarnish after wearing the necklace 10 to 15 times, making the clasps look cheap and dirty.

Is this common when using silver plated brass? Is there a different material that won’t tarnish but is in the similar price range as silver plated brass?
