Am packed awaiting a move across country sitting on my hands anxious to make the perfect new nest but dreading the soup bowl of beads and stuff that awaits organization. Thank you for reminding me I need to brand myself as that will give me something to day waiting for our house to sell. I appreciate you all for your sharing your work spaces and will share my journey as well.

I love your space, the storage, and the light! I would also like to see others’ spaces, since I am hoping to upgrade my storage. I’d like to see some things involving lots of seed beads, as well.

Love this!! It looks very similar to my space. I would love to have more lighting. I think lighting and proper organization of the boxes is everything when designing a beading room. It’s nice to see how others have their beading rooms set up, thanks so much for sharing.

Maybe your husband could create/sell a tutorial for making the cabinets. Materials list, measurements, assembly directions, etc. I would be interested in purchasing a tutorial like that!!

Thanks, Rena! Reading through the entries now. So many great ideas. If anyone is interested, I will be blogging about my studio setup and will also post some pix here. If anyone has recommendations for setting up a PMC kiln/soldering area, I would be interested in knowing. I figured to buy one of those all metal workshop table things that Lowe’s/HD type places sell that come equipped with a top shelf, work table top, lower shelf and outlets.

Oh, I LOVE that bead storage box! He should sell these, as many of us gals don’t have handy husbands. (I ADORE my hubby, but handiness is not one of his gifts!). I am going to check out the studio page now!

Very nice and workable — and the light! You are so lucky! Looks like I have similar bins to yours and I like those custom-built bin shelves so much, rather than stacking up the bins on top of each other and having to dig and dig to find the right bin, as you say… hmm. And I have a carpenter friend, too.

Rena, I know I’m not alone in this: would it be possible to set up a page for people to post photos of their real workspaces? Maybe to get a forum happening for people to either cry “Help meeeeeeeeee,” or “Hey, look at what I found that works for me!” type of idea. I’m going to be looking at a new and much smaller apartment this week and I absolutely need to plan my studio/workspace *before* I move in May.

My boxes measure 27 inches high by 4 foot long with spaces 11 1/2 by 2 inches. Just the right size for the storage boxes. I hope this helps.
