The way that the necklace moves when you are wearing it is such a great feeling. I have started adding small crystals and when the light catches them it is magical.

For the blue set I used crochet thread as the choice of beads could handle it. But for the coral set I had to use CLon as the holes in the coral were so tiny. This meant that I would have to reinforce the little bundles with an extra step after the main stringing was completed.

I typically knot with silk thread that I wax, but for this design I have not waxed the thread choice at all. I also did not use needles, but instead dipped the end of the thread in super glue and let it dry creating a built in needle that just got cut off in the end.

Love the idea of thread instead of wire. Do you use waxed thread? I too like the idea of the suede at the back of the necklace as chips can be a bit scratchy on skin. And throwing in the earrings…nice touch.

Great job and lucky you to inherit the first necklace!

I really like how knotting the strands together makes a more substantial necklace than just a single strand alone. A great way to use a variety of colors and smaller beads. I also like the earring styles you’re creating to go with these versatile necklaces – I can see these jewelry sets matching many outfits. And great idea for the suede cord on the back of the necklaces – a comfortable feature like that means the necklace will be worn a lot!
