Spring and Summer Tree Sun Catchers

I recently finished two more sun catchers, one for summer and the other for spring.

The spring one is a cherry tree in full blossom.

A Spring Cherry Tree

Quite by accident I found a new source for gem stone and glass chips.

They had the perfect green for a summer tree plus a great color for cherry blossoms.

Early Summer

The summer tree has three different kinds of green chips – chrome diopside, peridot and green glass.

Around the top edge of the summer tree I used gold colored chips to give it a little sparkle.

Currently they are all hanging in my front room.

  • Nancy, it’s nice to see the newest members of your seasonal tree suncatcher series! I especially love the blooming cherry tree for Spring. Glad you found a good source for the chip beads. Out of this whole series you’ve made, which tree is your favorite?

  • Nancy Vaughan says:

    Hi Rena,
Thanks for the comments and the compliment. They are all bright and cheerful and just the thing to fight the January blahs!

I think my favorite tree is the autumn tree but the winter one is so eye catching it’s hard to decide. Then there is the cherry tree that really sings to me. Guess you could say they are all my favorites I have one for every mood as well as every season.

  • Annie says:

Wow, what a great way to use chip beads! I have a lot of them and struggle sometimes with how to use them. This is great!
