On the contrary, on my oxidized and waxed copper earrings, I use Gold filled wire for the ear wires and use that as a selling point, they are safe for most wearers.

Brushing on the first coat, some of the oxidization came off on the brush, will try 2 or 3 coats. Or maybe someone has had success with a spray-on coating?
