I saw your comment about whether these necklaces were for sale in retail businesses- indeed they are in Panama City Beach, FL as I purchased one yesterday in a sort of beachy, bohemian shop. I saw more of them today in an antique/crafty shop and it has prompted me to look for them on etsy, etc. as I love them and their uniqueness! Here they are found on both beaded agate as well as beaded chain thus varying the price. Hope this helps.

You fold then lengthwise. Once the tassel is made, I run it under a water faucet to shape it then let it dry. Silk is a natural fiber so it’s ok to get wet. If you go to my shop TuscanRoadDesigns.com, you can see more examples. Good luck!
Holly

Hey there!!!! I just happened to see that you had replied to my sari silk
tassel making question. Thank you so much. However, I’m still somewhat confused….LOL!!!!! When you state you “fold them in half over” or you saying
the strands in length or the width? I’m also ironing the silk because it is so
very wrinkled but once I wire it and then bring the wire into the cone, the
ribbon sort of “projects” from the cone in a “unruly” style is the only way I
can think of describing the final effect. I’m seeing these tassels from ssilk
only on etsy and pinterest, but have to date not seen any being sold in retail businesses or anyone (other than me), wearing them. I get no compliments whether it is one of the two I’ve purchased from Etsy sellers or from my
own hands. I’m curious as to whether they’re just not “catching on” in
Texas. I don’t want to continue wasting my money and time on these of
they are not a popular trend. Thank you so much for your help and this time I will be on the “look out” for a reply from you.
Gratefully,
Lawana

Many thanks for the kind feedback!
The sari silk can be in any width, however if it is too wide, I cut it lengthwise. I think the best width is about 1/2″. Often however, the silk is infact 1″ or wider but crinkled or rolled which is actually good because then it makes the tassel fuller. I use about 10 8″ strands and fold them in half over and secure to the wire. Then bring the wire up thru the cone and finish it from there.
If you go to any of my tassel listings on my shop, there is a picture that will give you some good ideas of all the unlimited color and finishing options.
Good luck and enjoy!
Best, Holly

almost 1 inch. I’m not positive I’m placing into the “cone” correctly or even if the silk sold to me on etsy is the correct width. Would you please explain to me how you make the tassel only. Thank you so very much, Lawana Davis

This necklace feels peaceful and timeless.
