The two metals you are soldering together are the issue. The Rio Grande web site has great soldering tips and instructions. I have also bought a bronze paste solder from Rio for gold color findings and love the outcome. There are several great tutorials at the RG site, helpful maybe?

Do you need to use flux with it? Have you studied something about the soldering process? Would you use soft or hard solder? Without knowing some of these details, it’s hard to respond to your question. OTOH, no matter what kind of soldering you may do, be sure to have a window or a fan nearby, to avoid inhaling any fumes.
