I package orders over $50 in a handmade kimono silk bag I had made up for me by a local seamstress from kimono remnants a retired designer gave me years ago. I think my customers like it! I also package a unique to Japan candy in each order, for fun.

Usually a zipper pull. I also send out a free gift from any online sales. I had some cards printed that I include with the free gift that gives them 10% off their next purchase. I will post a photo of the gift card in the next Jewelry Making Journal.

Betty-Anne, your versatile key rings sound like a great small gift item (or for a customer to treat herself!).

Here’s a tutorial from my blog.
https://freshbakeddesigns.wordpress.com/2013/05/21/tuesday-morning-tutorial-and-invitation/

To make the ear hugs…add a bead to the ball head pin. Bend the wire at about a 45 degree angle and curve the wire over a small diameter marker pen or ink pen. I usually trim some extra off the bottom of the wire. File the end smooth and bend about 1/4 inch ‘foot’ up (to keep the earring from slipping out of the ear). I also lightly forge the curve of the ear wire to work harden the wire for strength and to keep its shape.

I have recently done some key rings which were quite a hit. I used orphan lampwork beads and small tassels added to a sturdy ring with an over-sized swivel lobster clasp. That way, it could also be used as a purse or backpack charm. I’ve also had requests to purchase them separately.

I am just starting my business in earnest and I think this will be a positive selling point. So simple to do, yet such a big impact for the customer.

What a great idea of the earring hugs. I am definitely going to try to make some of these for the Christmas season. Can I ask how much you sell them for if they want extras? You always come up with gorgeous ideas and i love to see your posts. Do you have a website we can check out?

Would I just bend the ball eye pin and then sand the end so it is easy to put on? I know this is a dumb question but I love your idea and want to do it correctly. Thank you.
