It is true that sometimes things just work out the way they want to, not depending on my efforts at design 😉 Of course, making the original color combinations and sculpting them into a shape that will fit the human body is a challenge no matter the technique used to create the jewelry 😉 But you are right that the organic method is a lot of fun!

I love that you make most of them organically. I imagine it is much more fun that way too!

My style preference in polymer clay differs radically from Cindy’s, but she certainly taught me the basics. I could learn very quickly because I had been working in bronze art clay for a while before I became interested in making polymer clay jewelry. I wish you success in your polymer clay work.

I have all the supplies and experiment sometimes, but yours are truly a work of art. How can I reach your level of skill with this medium? Thanks for your advice.

Maybe the parrots can tell stories about the tropics to the little finches and sparrows of North America 😉

And yes, it also reminds me of parrots. A year ago I was in the Smoky Mountains and visited a bird sanctuary called Parrot Mountain. We saw a lot with those colors.

I wish I could have shared more of the process, but i had to keep the article within limits 😉 Most of my descriptions at my website tell a fuller story of how the pieces came into being 😉

I’m so happy that you focused on this particular necklace creation of yours, as it’s one of my utmost favorites! I love the colors and how light plays upon the various surface textures, especially the smooth yellow gold beads. It seems very dreamy to me. Of course, love the bracelet too! 🙂 Congrats for publishing, and thank you for sharing something about your creative process – always interesting!

I will confess this moment that it was Catherine W. who compared the jewelry set to the colors of Costa Rican bird feathers 😉
