Handmade Jewelry display bust, with Lace

This is the first of 4 paper mache jewelry busts I made. Not wanting to spend a lot of money on commercially made jewelry busts, I decided to make my own.

After throwing a few ideas around, i finally decided to use orange juice cartons as a base. This bust was made with the carton whole and uncut.

After forming the bust, I used scrap booking paper to embellish it.
I use this and my other forms at craft shows as displays.

What a creative idea! I’d love to see a tutorial on how you did it.

  • Isabelle says:

Very good idea for display and yes is good idea too to have a tutorial on how to do it thank for sharing.

  • What a great idea, Beth – and a very cool way to recycle the juice cartons! And great that you can cover them in exactly the colors you want. If your display felt too lightweight for a windy outdoor show, you could fill the carton with a ziplock bag filled with sand or pebbles. And I agree with Autumn and Isabelle – I’d love to see a tutorial of how you make these! 🙂

Wow those are very pretty!! Now you should sell them along with the jewelry. Great idea for a display for your favorite piece.

Wow, what a great idea. Now I have a use for empty milk, bleach and fabric softener/POD jugs. Coffee cans too. Put $1 store marbles inside for weight. Now I can sell the ones I bought. 🙂 Thank u.
