Old Windows

I was looking for an easy was to display my jewelry at craft fairs. Since I’m a cheapskate, I wanted it to be free if at all possible! On Pinterest, I had seen old windows used as jewelry displays and I loved that look. But, I needed a way for it to stand alone on the table top.
Hinge two windows together! I had a bunch of old windows in the attic, so I found two that were around the same size and broke out all the glass. Then I put about 6 or 7 cup hooks in each “pane”.
In one of the panes, I strung wire horizontally so I can hang earrings. Then I hinged them together so the display folds closed. Finally I covered the back with black felt, so it would be light weight and the jewelry would have a nice background.
Now, when getting ready for a show, I just put all the jewelry on the display at home, fold it closed and carry it into the show. Most of the time, I leave everything on the display when I store it in the studio.
