Love the look and the design! Any chance of sharing with a basic tutorial we could differentiate from?

Love the butterflies it’s fun when you discover something when making your jewelry. Sometimes things happen by mistake and they end up being something brilliant. Love the design.

Hi Missy,
Thanks for that. We have another post here that I thought looked similar. Sarit just contributed over there that she believes THAT might be rutilated quartz, which is what your stone reminded me of but I could not remember that name.

What do you think? Rutilated quartz?

(OK…I think I have a new favorite word…”Rutilated”.)

And yes, if you have another pic of this type of stone I’ll post that too. I never turn down a peek at someone’s stash. 🙂

I have tried to find this gemstone everywhere. The closest thing I can find is a Gold Moss Agate. This stone is clear like a crystal quartz but has what really looks like a golden/green colored moss inside of it. These do not have any of the agate lining that you see in most agates which is why I have always questioned it being an agate. I have several of these stones and will be happy to send you another picture if you’d like. Just let me know. You can contact me via email if you’d like.

Thanks again…

Missy

When I was posting this I made a mental note to come back and ask about that gemstone. Missy, do you by any chance know what kind of stone that is?

Does anyone?

I tried to bring a little different light and contrast to it on the bottom image to see if it’s more brown, or green…or gold.

I have experimented with wire wrapping over the past 18 years making jewelry but just recently put more focus on this medium. Please feel free to comment and I thank you for taking time to look at my work and appreciate your feedback and suggestions.
