To comment on your side questions. Possibly easier for you is to cut down your cuffs. Trace one side of your cuff end on paper, cut out the shape. Place the shape on the area you want to shorten your bracelet and trace with a sharpie. Cut the end and file. If you have a bracelet mandrel use a raw hide mallet to hammer it into shape and to stiffen the material so it doesn’t bend. If you don’t have a bracelet mandrel you can use a can of vegetables. This will not work if you are using aluminum as it will always bend. I could certainly do a tutorial on making cuffs but it requires using a torch to heat the metal, if that doesn’t frighten you. You can also look on Youtube as I am sure there are going to be video’s there.

Thanks for the compliment on my cuffs. I sell my jewelry at DaisiesNDreams @ etsy.com. Not sure if I have any cuffs on there now, possibly one.

Again Laurie I wish you the very best in making this work out for yourself. You have certainly come up with a very nice design.

My sister and I work together on the business and we so badly want to sell these cuffs, but we’re just concerned about selling something that might break. We have tried the E6000 and clamping it. However, with the bending the do pop off over time….but, I think to Sue’s point I think I may need to learn how to make my own cuffs so that I can size them better because the ones I buy from the store are too stiff and too big. Thanks for the post on Sue’s process too. It was very insightful. I’m so grateful for such a supportive group and great job to Rena for creating it! If it’s not too much to ask I have two side note questions based on everyone’s input. Does anyone know of a previous post on where I can learn more about how to make my own cuffs including what gauge metal to use? Also, if I were to make these bracelets, I’m curious what people would be a fair price to charge? They are very time-consuming and we use a lot of materials to create them, but I’m always concerned charging too much if I’m using glue because I didn’t know if people thought that makes the price point less? (Sue – I love your cuffs! Where do you sell them?)

Rena attached my instructions on how I attach metal components to metal bracelets. I can now see the photo of what you are doing. These are really a neat bracelet idea. Here is what I would do in your situation.

Stand your cuff up so the top is facing the ceiling. Prop it if you need to keep it stable. I would start with E6000 and glue only the top portion of your design. I would let that dry for 24 – 48 hours. You may need to use clamps to keep it from sliding. I would then do one side and let it dry and then the other side. I believe part of your problem is the weight of the chain dragging it off of the cuff. I use clamps from a hardware store that have rubber coated tips. This will be time consuming for you but you could work on multiple bracelets at once. I hope this helps and best of luck to you.

With a tiny hole you would not see it (the hole) and very little of the wire, beads will be held on much better too.
You could line the bangle then if need be. Or even considering the hole position/placement draw a design on the inside you can follow when wiring the chains and beads e.t.c, then you would not need to line the inside, Or, draw/write you logo/name and use that as the design. (wish I wire worked still, hands no longer work well enough!)
If anyone does their logo/name inside I’d love to see them, prob someone already does this, will use myself one day with fabric cuffs.

How I Attach Components to Metal Bracelets.
Thanks so much to Sue for her great writeup and fantastic photos! 🙂

And BTW, Laurie – I love what you’re doing with your cuffs now that I see the photo – a really great look!

I glue several pieces of chain onto the cuff to fill it where you don’t see any of the chains and then I usually add a vintage embellishment for some flair – does anyone know how I can upload a photo to show what we’re trying to accomplish? ; )

Then I use E6000 and a rivet to hold things down. If people aren’t bending things around E6000 allowed to set up well holds. If you need a picture I can share what has worked for me.

I love my Dremel tool and use it to drill holes quickly. If the hole is small enough you can use a coordinating head pin from the inside – keeping it smooth against the wrist – then create a loop on the other side through the chain. If I attach something to a cuff that makes the inside not smooth, I line it with suede or denim fabric scraps so it is comfortable to wear.

But drilling holes and attaching the chains sounds like the best solution.

Would you be able to tell me what it is and how it works?
