This necklace size chart shows women’s and men’s standard necklace length for all types of neckwear.

Women’s Necklace Size Chart

Collar: 12 – 14 inches (30 – 35 cm)

Neckwire: 15 – 18 inches (37.5 – 45 cm)

Choker: 14 – 16 inches (30 – 40 cm)

Princess / Pendant: 16 – 18 inches (40 – 45 cm)

Matinee: 20 – 25 inches (50 – 62.5 cm)

Opera: 28 – 34 inches (70 – 85 cm)

Eyeglass / Sunglass Leash: 20 – 30 inches (50 – 75 cm)

Nametag Lanyard: 32 – 36 inches (80 – 90 cm)

Rope: 40 – 48 inches (75 – 120 cm)

Lariat: 48 inches (120 cm) (ends left unattached)

 

Men’s Standard Necklace Lengths

Choker: 16 – 18 inches (40 – 45 cm)

Short: 18 – 20 inches (45 – 50 cm)

Medium: 22 inches (55 cm)

Long: 24 inches (60 cm)

Eyeglass / Sunglass Leash: 20 – 30 inches (50 – 75 cm)

    How do I measure someone’s neck for a necklace or chain with no tape measure

  • April, use a string around the person’s neck, adjusting the string until it’s the ideal necklace length for that person. Mark that length on the string, and remove the string from the person. Then measure the string against a ruler, yardstick, or other straight measuring stick.
