My mother was also a seamstress and I loved playing with her buttons as a child. When she passed away I, too had hundreds of buttons that brought back memories. I was able to fill mason jars for my daughters and myself with some of the more unusual, older ones and gave them to them with a poem about their grandmother and her “collection”. I have been hoping to make a unique piece of jewelry using some of the ones that I kept and your post has given me inspiration. Your creation is exquisite. I am sure your cousin gets a lot of compliments when she wears it. Like Kate, I love recycled jewelry projects. Thank you for sharing yours.
