I recently ran across some costume jewelry on sale, and thought it might be possible to turn them into steampunk pieces.

Holes were drilled into the costume pendants, then watch gears and watch bodies were wired on.

The octopus was also altered from a pendant to a brooch. The watch parts added up to about $2 per piece, and it took around 45 minutes each to put them together.

  • What a cool idea for a jewelry makeover, Rhonda! It’s amazing how the addition of watch parts gives these pieces a whole different personality.

Love, love, love that sea horse and the octopus. I collect horses and this sea horses would fit right in with my others sea horses. Definitely fit right in with the FUN jewelry. I would happily wear either one.

I love the sea horse and the octopus. What an ingenious idea. I have been trying to figure something steam punk out and you did give me some ideas. So pretty and fun.
