Mermaid tail necklace and earring combo

One of the great things about joining your local bead society is the great projects that you get to create each month.

When I moved to Florida a year and a half ago, I joined the Gulf Coast Bead Society in Port Charlotte FL.

A recent project, designed by Loretta Fehling was a necklace and earring set made out of adorable ceramic mermaid tails made by local artist Michelle McCarthy of Firefly Design Studio.

The mermaid pendant and earrings were to be embellished with pearls and crystals, in whatever color combination suited your fancy.

I put a slight spin on the idea by using green opal gemstone beads, along with white Swarovski pearls, and light turquoise AB Swarovski bicone beads.

Making all the dangles gave everyone the opportunity to practice their looping skills, and end up with a darling necklace and earring set perfect for Florida, or anyone who loves mermaids!
