Then gave each student a set of the different size dowels. These dowels in every size can be used to curve any wire and also hammered with a leather hammer to keep the shape. I would not be without them for any project. The 4 inch length is perfect for curving more than one wire at a time. So any shape ear wire pair can be shaped together.

She creates jigs from delrin plastics, a very hard plastic that she shapes with burs and routers with her foredom drill. You draw she shape of the wire on the delrin sheet and carve out the area, leaving a curved surface that you shape your wire against. If you get a chance, try to take her class. It’s well worth it for these solutions!

It is a square tool (maybe 3 x 3) with holes for different sized pegs. Wrapping the wire around the pegs gives you consistent curves and loops every time. I use mine all the time and wouldn’t be without it. Good luck!

You can try a drawing of the curve you want on a piece of paper that you match the piece you are making to. Or, if the design allows it, take a wire twice as long as what you need, fold it in have, and then make both components at once, Cut apart at the fold when complete.
