Thank you, Rena! I love geometric shapes and using “hoop like” components would make great gifts for embroidery, etc, hand sewers. Oh, the possibilities.! and of course there’s always endless color combinations. lol.

Here are the sizes of the connector shapes I used.
I’m referring to the 4th photo from the top of this tutorial, where you can see a lineup of all the shapes I used:

Top row, left to right:
Narrow Ovals = 7mm x 25mm
Diamonds = 14mm x 28mm
Wider Ovals = 15mm x 20mm

Middle Row, left to right:
Circles = 25mm
Squares = 30mm x 30mm

Bottom Row, left to right:
Tiny Ovals = 8mm x 17mm
Teardrops = 29mm x 36mm

I hope this helps, and I would LOVE to see how your project turns out with the wire shapes you make! 🙂

I would like to make my own connectors for the Loops and Hoops earrings. Can you tell me what the measurements are for the individual connectors? How many inches for the square connectors, etc . I love these! I now have another “jumping off place” to work from. I’m finding that I love torch work, so making fun shapes to combine in earrings will be really fun! My brain is spinning with ideas now. better get out my sketch jewelry journal!

Rena, you have such a talent for making “simple” things look amazing. Your design talent, though, is what makes it “simple!” Taking it to the least common denominator without “dumbing it down.” Then you have the generosity to share it in a way that makes it easy enough for anyone to follow yet opens up the creativity of those who are experienced enough to take it to another level. I can see mixing and matching metals with these, too, as you have done on previous projects. I may have said this before, but I’m going to say it again: You rock!

These are so cute, Rena! You could even put a very small dangle on the innermost hoop/loop! Pardon my ignorance, I am fairly new to jewelry making, but what are jewelry connectors? Do they go by any other name, so that if I wanted to make these, I know what to look for?

Thank you, thank you, thank you Rena! This EXACTLY what I was looking for this morning. I made a copper and gold pendant necklace that a customer liked, but she wanted earrings as well with hoops/loops. I formed teardrops in 18g copper around polymer clay teardrop cutter, hammered them and added jump rings to attach diamond shaped gold connectors, all on goldplated ear wires…
Voila!
