Lapis and sterling earrings

These lapis and sterling earrings started out as an experiment.

I made a leaf stamp out of tool steel and wanted to try doing something different with it.

Trying out the lapis stone

I stamped a pattern on sterling silver sheet, then sawed around the outline of the shape and domed it.

I did not know what color or shape of stone I would use, so I tried out a number of stones.

When I put the oval lapis stones on the domed pieces, it was meant to be!
