It’s interesting that you chose to pull up one of my lacy creations right now. Less than a week ago the lady who used to own the bridal accessories boutique where I displayed my jewellery (she now works in a bridal dress shop) saw pictures from years ago of the collection of bridal jewellery I gave her. She told me that she hoped I continued on with my lace jewellery because I was very talented. Her encouragement lifted me, and it also resonated with me and reminded me of my love for working with lace. There are other elements that I love – pearls, beach glass, shells, crystals – but I’m happiest and feel most authentic pairing them with lace, even just a touch. And now here is another one of my past lacy creations surfacing again. Lace seems to be calling my name, lol! I do have a project with lace that I’ve started, and it’s been sitting there waiting for me to get back to it (partly because I’ve been creating gardens, and partly because I haven’t really had the motivation to get back to it). Hopefully I’ll be able to share that soon here. 🙂

This post was done several years ago now, and I still have and wear those earrings, and I still love them! The shoes have gone by the wayside, but I have a pretty top that they match beautifully with now.

When the soles of these pretty sandals wear out (hopefully a long time from now!), maybe you can repurpose their jeweled straps into another item that will still match the earrings.

I hadn’t really thought about them looking vintage, but I think you’re right.
