I tried silver plate and the steele underneath the silver plate was so hard I couldn’t bend it.

I just took a class on making your own wire clasps and now I know a great and cheap way to purchase copper wire. (I never would have thought of Home Depot!) I also love repurposing broken bits of jewelry into new pieces. Sometimes a little vintage ‘flair’ is just the thing to make a piece unique, timeless and a little funky! Cheers and best of luck to everyone in your creative endeavors.

I buy or trade for many bargains through these meetings.

I visited with a lady at a trade show who sadly told me that her eyesight had gotten so bad that she could no longer use her smaller gemstones.

I also dabble in leather hides and had a small hide that this lady loved. I went to her house and we went through her beads. She traded 8 divided plastic containers of wonderful beads for my hide and one of my necklaces.

It was a wonderful trade for both of us and I am still using these wonderful beads in my designs as well as the great plastic containers.
