Morning, I don’t understand why a cabochon would smell. It’s a stone, right. What kind of ‘smoke’ smell was present?

Worked like a charm (after a couple days)!

Hi K, have you tried burying the leather bracelet in a baggie filled with baking soda (and sealing the baggie) for several days?

I have a stone & leather bracelet that is very musty! Very strong smell. It came from China. I have tried keeping it in coffee grounds and herbs. So far not helping Any ideas?

It will absorb any and all smells, stinks, scents, aromas etc. in its proximity including, but not limited to materials used in tanning and dying, locales where it is stored, perfumes, creams and good old fashioned sweat. I find that tanning/dying scents are generally favourable as most people like the smell of tanned leather. As for the others, it’s a matter of personal preference and/or occasional cleaning.
