I was so excited to read the posting in your last newsletter called There’s a Big Audience for Jewelry with Easy Open Clasps because I have recently started giving customers options for easy to open clasps in my own Etsy shop.

That posting taught me to use the toggle closures as well as others.

Currently, my ideal customer is a busy woman who doesn’t have to fool with tiny closures (they can be so frustrating to open)…and they can save time and be out-the-door.

I’d really like to include as my ideal customer the woman with arthritis or carpal tunnel, but not sure how to market to them and my busy woman customers at the same time….

    Your jewelry style is very enticing. Regarding promoting the easy closure feature on your jewelry:

    First of all, since there are people from all walks of life who have hand / wrist issues and would benefit from those easy closures, I would make sure to mention that feature prominently in the “About” section of your online shop; and also in the product listings, product keywords (and possibly in the product titles as well) of each jewelry item that has an easy clasp.

    Do some keyword research to find commonly used phrases for easy to open jewelry clasps.

    If you have a Facebook page, you could create and post a short video showing how easily your clasps work.

    If you do jewelry shows, have prominent signs in your booth announcing your easy clasps. You might also have a booth poster made, showing a couple of photos of your clasps and how they work.

    Mention the clasps on the jewelry cards / tags of those items.

    If you have business cards, mention your easy clasps on them.

    Wear and demonstrate your jewelry made with your easy clasps everywhere you go. And especially demonstrate whenever someone compliments you on the jewelry you’re wearing. As you thank them for the compliment, it’s a perfect opportunity to quickly open the clasp of the bracelet / necklace you’re wearing, and show how easily it works. As you demonstrate, you could say something like “one of my favorite things about this bracelet is how easy it is to put on and take off!”

    I’ve been finding this lately, too. I had a lovely lady at a show inquire about magnetic closures, so I’ve started keeping sets of them with me that can be switched in for easy use.
