My sister has fibromyalgia, back and knee problems and I have been helping her with housework for years.

I recently received my AS in Web Design and Interactive Media from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh while caring for my 92 year old mother who passed away in December.

I would be happy to help you set up your website, teach you how to do the things that you can to keep it updated, or do the updating for you. I have years of working across distances on teams and have had my own website for over 10 years.

I have to lay down and take a nap during the day due to the pain etc from all that is wrong with me. I am in the process of setting up a website with Artfire.com. they take care of all the processes of doing the computer items needed for a online business. Check your local hi schools and see if any of their computer teachers do tech work for people at night or weekends. They might help you.

It sounds like you need a virtual assistant. A good virtual assistant, is like an online jack-of-all-trades. They can handle all kinds of tasks for you like appointment making, website design, graphics creation, and website updates; to business consulting, public relations, marketing and everything in-between; all virtually.

My suggestion would be that before you look for anyone to help you, you make a list of exactly what tasks you would like them to do within your business so that you know what skills you’re looking for in a VA.

You also want to know exactly how much you can budget for a good VA. Most will have an hourly rate already set but may be able to work with you on fees depending on your needs.

Most VA’s will offer the ability to purchase blocks of time up front for you to use as needed. That is good way to control your costs and pick and choose what tasks you would like that time spent on.

Other times you may be asked to pay a flat fee for particular tasks.

Like anything else, with VA services you get what you pay for. I’ve seen some offer rates as low as $3 US per hour, all the way to $60 or more. Anyone asking $30 or more should offer a level of experience, communication, and service that far surpasses anything you would get for less than $10 per hour.

It all depends on what you need your VA to do for you; what skills you require they have; and how accessible you need that person to be.

Once you know what you need done for you, some good places to start looking for a good VA would be ODesk, where you can post the job to be filled. Or the International Virtual Assistants Directory, where you can search their membership according to your needs.

Hope this helps.
