I find twitter so far has been the most effective, but Instagram also gets my jewelry out into the world. I will continue using all three bcuz they are working for me.

Thanks, all.

I’ve just joined the site, so I don’t have much. Just started my business this month.

Catherine, I definitely know about time sinks – I’m also a fiction writer, where marketing online is a necessity (though in a different way than this).

Instagram and other so-called places to post your pics for items to sell can be a time waster. Know who your buyers are and where they go to purchase jewelry. Don’t guess. It wastes time and time is something that isn’t replaceable in our lives. Just being “busy” doesn’t make for sales. That is; if that’s your objective. I know I wasted years doing this until I got off my ass(ets) and defined, really defined, my buyer. And I have a degree in marketing. I found I had a fear of rejection and thought I was defining my buyer well. Ha, ha. I was fooling myself. Even I found outside help to assist me in defining because I couldn’t walk around my fear by myself. Acknowledgment is hard, getting real is even harder…at least for me. I’m still learning by being mindful and aware. If something isn’t working, stop it. Make a deadline for testing everything and don’t go past it. Use your intuition, listen to yourself, love yourself thru the process of learning. This advice will make you successful; however, you define success.

Variety, showing the backstory and seasonal pictures keep people interested. I like to take pictures of my customers wearing jewelry they bought & post them on Insta, to show evidence that people actually like wearing my designs, lol.

Show ways to wear it, include seasonal photos like pieces shown in valentines packaging, mix it up, have variety so pics dont always look the same.
