Grey Beaded Necklace by Hema Rao - featured on Jewelry Making Journal

This is a beautiful piece of jewelry in a grey color scheme. The grey pearls have a glow of their own and have the coloring of South Sea Pearls.

The cube shapes are engineered by humans and not by oysters.

The leaf charms used in the necklace remind one of the wavy leaves of the weeping willow tree gently swaying in the wind.

There are three textured silver colored leaves that add a great deal of interest to the piece.

The larger tubular Austrian cut glass beads look like color change gems as they assume multiple shades of blue, silver and purple depending on the source of the light.

The grey glass seed beads make up the rest of the necklace. Because of the soft colors, the photographs do not capture adequately the beauty of the beads used to make this necklace.

There are two rows, the inner one has one leaf. The outer row has three pearl drops and two leaf charms.

The large silver spring ring clasp adds to the color scheme. The necklace is comfortable to wear and will not weigh anyone down.

It is a dressy piece and is seasonless and timeless in fashion. The handmade necklace adds a lot of glamour to an office suit and a party dress. Grey goes with every color of apparel.

Dimensions: Outer Row: 24″; Inner Row: 20″; Pearly Grey Beads: 10 mm; Silver Leaf Charms (3) 1 1/2 ” X 3/4″; Czech Beads: 5 mm X 3 mm; Seed beads: 2 mm.

Care: Wipe with soft cloth and store in a larger box to maintain shape.
