You definitely need a credit card reader, I use Paypal and am quite satisfied with it. You more than likely, will need a Sales and Use tax identification number. Sometimes you can get a temporary number but I have permanent numbers from the states where I show most often. Sometimes you also need liability insurance, the website for the show should tell you the requirements. When needed I have use ACT insurance which is pretty reasonable. For each show where I make an application, I start a tracking sheet that I developed from one I found on Pinterest which I used last year and found very helpful. I don’t see a photo upload here or I would upload a copy for you. But if you e-mail me I will send a copy. It’s a great way to determine the difference between sales and profits. Get a square reader or some type of credit card reader. Makes a huge difference in sales when you can take a credit card. It is free. Log on to Square, give them your bank acct routing number so they can send you money. Order a free card reader that attaches to your phone or tablet. Even if you don’t have a phone connection, the reader will keep your info and provide it to you as soon as you reach wifi. Square will charge you a small percentage – I think its 2..7% – for the service. It also has many other programs useful to small businesses – some are free, some you pay for. I do about 60 to 70% of my business in credit card payments when doing a show. I always put a sign out that I accept credit cards. It’s easy peasy.

My business is an LLC which I co-own with another. I did it for liability protection. I have been in business since 2015 keeping records of sales, state taxes, and inventory with my own excel spreadsheets but let me tell you, I just started using paper and sparks spreadsheets and I am loving them! Good luck with your show! Pinterest has a lot of good set up ideas and there are a lot of blogs out there that have checklists you can print out. Make sure to bring drinks. Biggest advice. You will get thirsty talking to everyone!
