You open up the tube and cut a small section, the center is black, the outer part is grey, you just keep kneading until it is all grey in color. Like I said it starts to harden quickly and if using a mold, it can be removed in 15 minutes, at which time it is hard enough to start painting on, but to completely cure, I would leave it at least 24 hours, if I were going to add a wrapped wire bail to the piece. I have drilled holes easily without breaking the piece after it has been sitting about 1 hour. Just another option of material to use.

I also am going to try using it as a cold connection in some pieces, where I want to attach metal to metal. I am thinking of placing a small, thin piece of flattened epoxy clay between the two metals, to see how well it adheres. Just haven’t gotten the chance to try that yet.

Rena- I like your idea of making simple pendants to sell at shows and this is what spurred me in this direction to see what I could make.

The epoxy clay used by Nunn Designs has about a 2 hours working time and can be used to ‘set’ items in the clay.
Your pendant turned out lovely! – like a architectural find.

And I like the bronze look of your painted pendants. Thanks for sharing your experience and tips for creating with epoxy clay – I’m putting it on my shopping list. 🙂
