The second pair of earrings are my favorite, but I really love the dandelions a lot too. Keep up the great work.

Note to Carla: I learned this technique/method by reading and watching lots of tutorials on the web. Beaducation has a great one. Safety, supplies, and materials. Ferric Chloride is the etchant used and yes, it is a hazardous waste material once used, so check the requirements in your community and use safety precautions when using.

I have an interest in learning to work with copper and other metals. Does anyone care to share what I would need to get started? (tools, good instructions, etc.) You mention that there are a lot of steps involved, would I need to do this in a work area in a garage or could I safely do this in my craft room inside my home? I live in a small community that doesn’t have a place that teaches this. Any help would be appreciated.

I particularly love the first pair – the butterflies appear to actually be “in flight!!

I’ve just started etching copper, brass and nickel silver as well. As you mentioned, there are a lot of steps, but it’s really addictive and so much fun!

I love the nature themes in the etched designs, and that in each pair the designs are slightly asymmetrical – as they would be in nature. Thank you for sharing this collection! 🙂
