Etched Copper Earring Collection

I’ve gone from embossing copper (pounding a design into the metal) to etching copper (chemical treatment that eats away the metal).
Love the ease of using my rubber design stamps with a permanent ink to create beautiful pieces for jewelry. One can also free had draw a design using a permanent ink sharpie pen on the copper sheet metal.
It’s a long process of many steps, but the final results are just so satisfying. There are several good tutorials on the web for this process…search “etching copper with ferric chloride tutorial”.
(There is also a series here on Jewelry Making Journal that starts here >> Acid Etching Metal Jewelry)
As a side note…I took the last two photos at sunset on my porch and am stunned by the gorgeous copper colors in these untouched photos.
