Getting people to stop and take a look is one of the most important – and sometimes the most difficult – parts of selling jewelry in a festival or arts and craft show setting.

With 10 or 20 jewelry vendors at many shows, what makes your booth stand apart?

For me it’s displays that are interesting, but keep the focus on the jewelry.

I’ve shared a few of my favorite ideas in previous posts here:

Using Vases as Necklace Displays

Display Cases for Jewelry, Made from Art Supply Cases

Driftwood Jewelry Display Ideas

Here’s another important element:

Adding More Height
to Your Display

With the addition of the vase jewelry “heads”, I wanted to add varying heights for more interest.

Again, being my thrifty (or cheap as my children would say) self, I painted small boxes with my leftover faux stone spray paint:

The boxes didn’t need to have weight since the heavy vase jewelry “heads” would be on top of them:

I also used boxes that stacked inside of each other for easier storage when packing up.

I placed a sheer curtain over them for a finished look.

And where did I get the boxes? From all my jewelry supply orders of course!

Staying Organized
Behind the Scenes

I use a rolling cart with drawers for other supplies:

This idea is not particularly creative, but it has greatly helped me streamline my checkout process.

I use this cart to organize all my jewelry boxes, organza bags, shopping bags, business cards, and my “Tree of Life” Card, which goes with my best selling necklace.

In the bottom drawer I keep all my essentials for surviving an outdoor arts and crafts festival in the South: bug spray, handy wipes, hand towel, and sunscreen, as well as extra pens and a spare receipt book.

Earthly Expressions Jewelry Booth

Your booth is such a lovely combination of dreamy and nature-inspired. Love your filmy white fabrics over the pretty deep green cloths.

And I love all of your well thought out, unique displays – the necklace vases, earring case, tree branches, etc. All are in perfect harmony with your jewelry.

The overall impression is indeed very “Earthly Expressions”!

Thank you so much for your series on your booth and displays – I have enjoyed it very much!

A Lovely Display

All of your elements are well thought out. I would definitely visit your booth. Thanks for the info about behind the table organization, I don’t think I’ve seen any articles on here about that.

‘Duh’ moment
by: drapedinjewelry

The rolling cart under the booth was a lightbulb for me; i always struggle with what to do with ‘all of that’ stuff and have it in various containers, etc. this just makes sense!! and surprise, i have several i can repurpose for that use. Thanks for that particular tip!

Creative and helpful!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…just when you think you’ve learned all you need to from years of doing shows, someone comes up with something you never thought of!

Not only is your display idea of boxes and sheer fabric refreshing, but it was the rolling cart idea that blew me away. Why? Because for years, I’ve been fighting with storing my supplies handily during a show and…get this…I own TWO rolling carts and never thought of using them like you do. DUH!

Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me. I needed that! I can’t believe I didn’t think of it! This newsletter of Rena’s is such a Godsend. I’ve gotten so many new ideas from other artisans, and I’m adding yours to the list of “why didn’t I think of this?” ideas!

I can’t wait to try it out at my first show of the year. I won’t be crowded on my “checkout table” now, and I can’t thank you enough.

Your boxes are beautiful, by the way, and great idea with the same color vases for necklace displays. Simple, yet attention getting. Love that driftwood, too! Good luck to you this show season…

lovely display, great ideas
by: Helen

What a lovely display. I love the way you use vases for your beautiful necklaces. Works really well together. Some great ideas here to explore. Also like the idea with the trolley box cart. I always struggle with way too many bags to lug around. I haven’t seen any of these trolleys, but will keep an eye out for them. Thanks for sharing. Helen

Additional Display Ideas

Some of my favorite display ideas have also been to use vases. Mine range from 5″ tall to 12″. Using antique tea pots, linens, and lots of baskets, all make beautiful displays. Rolling pins make fine bracelet displays too. What I do, is walk around the house imagining what I can do with almost everything I have. When possible, I claim these items for my jewelry party’s or shows. There is something about having your personal “stuff” around YOUR jewelry that helps to bring more confidence to you and also makes for great comments from your customers.

MORE RISERS ON THE CHEAP
by: Ricki

Lovely display Debbie. A couple of years ago when I decided I needed to add height to my display as well and also being on a tight budget, I roamed the house to see what I could find. I wanted risers for 2 things – some small easel type necklace displays and also my larger earring holders (2 that hold 30+ pairs of earring each). What I came up with and what has worked well for me for the few years was: For the small easel displays, 3 boxes of Kleenex (the “full size” boxes) lined up end to end and covered with a piece of black cloth that matches my table cover. – I can put 6 of the small displays across the 3 boxes – and I have another 6 or 7 staggered on the table in front of the riser.

For the earring displays, I grabbed 4 reams of copy paper from the boxes that my husband keeps for his volunteer tax preparation job and put them in 2 stacks of 2 each – again covered with matching cloth and put my 2 black metal earring displays on them – bringing the display up about 3-4 inches off the table and closer to eye level. The copy paper is a little heavy but it gives more stability to the heavier earring displays. Both work well for me and cost nothing since I had them already in the house.
