To continue with the Art Deco of the clip, I would keep the beads all one size and add some rhinestone squardelles. I’ve been collecting vintage jewelry for almost 50 years. I used to wear the dress/shoe clips on the lapel of a blouse or jacket. I’ve also used them instead of napkin rings to add interest to the folded napkin……can also be done with clip on earrings.
BTW I love the vintage clipon and screwback earrings and have been converting them to earrings for pierced ears. However, I find there is a limited target group that is interested in vintage from the point of selling.

I had never even heard of dress clips until today. 🙂 I see what I missed out on.. lovely and creative!

I bought a lot of clips, both shoe and dress to repurpose and I’m having fun doing it.

A great way to recycle these oldie-but-goodie accessories into something new. Have you had anyone recognizing that the pendant on these necklaces was formerly a dress clip or shoe clip? I remember having some shoe clips in the early 1980’s, but I never thought to save or repurpose them.
