DIY Jewelry Magazine Holder

Cereal Box Magazine Holder

Jewelry making magazines are a valuable resource for inspiration and technique that most of us refer back to many times, sometimes over the span of many years.

You can easily create cereal box jewelry magazine holders to store your magazine collections, in a way that keeps them at your fingertips and in great condition for as long as you have them.

  1. Find a cereal box large enough for the magazines you want to store.
  2. Remove the top flaps and cut out most of one end of the box, leaving 4 or 5 inches up from the bottom.
  3. On each side of the box, score a diagonal line from the cut line to the opposite top corner of the box.
  4. Fold to the inside on this score line and crease sharply.
  5. Glue the flap to the inside of the box.

You can cover the magazine holder with decorative paper. But if you’re going to use several of them side by side, you only need to cover the front of the holder.

Those WINE boxes work really well, also. They are nice heavy cardboard! 😉

Hello Noreen. Very good idea…one more thing kept outa the landfill! I also found that the tall laundry soap boxes worked good and the bugs don’t like them. :o} I now use the plastic kitty litter jugs cut down square across instead of diagonal.

I have done this and then covered them with decorative paper, fabric or even spray painted them

Now that is a brilliant use of a cereal box! And here I am crushing and discarding my boxes! Never again…magazine holders from now on! Thank you!!

I am so glad I saw this, thank you, you have just saved the landfill from about 100 cereal boxes.

I have two small children which means lots of diaper and wipe boxes. ( the type from buying “value packs” i.e. 360 wipes or say 98 diapers) I find they are perfect size for keeping important periodicals safe and accessible 🙂 Before I had children I used beer boxes, either from bars or when someone had a big get together and people would bring cases of bottled beer.

What a great idea! I always have way too many cereal boxes in my cupboard. Now I can keep my cupboard clean and my jewelry magazines neat and tidy and in great shape for years to come! Thanks for sharing.
