Desert Sun Artisan Necklace

by Diane Smith.
(Paso Robles, California USA)

I love the earthy rustic look and here is my rendition of it. I purchased the heavyweight sterling silver sun directly from the artist on a trip to New Mexico, having no idea what I’d actually do with it.

handcrafted clasp and artisan beads

On another trip to Flagstaff, AZ I found the agate barrels. While playing around & riffing through my beads, I realized that these two components would go well together. Then the fun started!

I love this, Diane. The hammered, silver beads with the brown tones of the stones are absolutely beautiful together. I’m not surprised however, you have such a wonderful sense of design with all your pieces!

I would never have thought to put silver with the brown-tone beads, but I like this very much! The play of different textures is marvelous!
