Hi Jane! Yes, we have over a dozen posts on various ways to clean jewelry and prevent tarnish; you can find them here:
Cleaning Jewelry.
I’ll be interested to hear which method you choose and how it works for you! 🙂

Many of my customers have expressed that it is difficult to put on bracelets and often have to ask some else for assistance.

A word of warning about them. I find that sterling silver reacts to the cotton and will tarnish very quickly. So, in addition to the gift boxes, I put my metal pieces in anti-tarnish zip lock bags and I also include an anti-tarnish tab in the bag. I also give my customers a polishing cloth. For my repeat customers, or for a new one spending over $50, I give them a tool I made for putting on bracelets. I got that tip from your site and I also make the gift box for this tool with scrap booking paper. My customers love them.

For larger works I include a certificate of authenticity that also includes care instructions.

I always give out little plastic bags for the crystals and velvet bags for the pearls. Also care info cards on “how to care” for their new jewellery. It takes time and some $$$ but my hope is that it makes the customer feel that their purchase is special.

All of my silver jewelry purchases get a small polishing cloth and earring guards in a plastic bag with my label on it. At holiday time, I wrap the lids of my *boxes in holiday paper and put there purchases in them. ** I save jewelry boxes from my other purchases all year long and the lids are what I wrap. Saves me money and is worth the extra effort.
