Since I dislike spiders this was a challenge. I kept seeing these on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try.

First little buddy.

It was a great way to use up beads AND help get over a fear. I was so absorbed in making my first one, I didn’t realize how much it looked like a spider til I sat back and examined it…YIKES.

Now I can’t wait to make more. I still fear spiders! For instructions, you will find many on Pinterest, just search diy beaded spiders.

  • These spiders do look real, Colleen! It’s amazing how beads can look so much like spiders’ leg segments. These little creepy-crawlies also have a feeling of elegance. I’m guessing they would be good sellers – especially around Halloween. An interesting way to get over a fear, and I love your caption, “the family has grown!” LOL!

They’re absolutely beautiful, Colleen! Almost makes me like spiders… ALMOST. 😉

I do not like spiders either but I ended up making a few beaded ones, as you did, and I like them. I put them in mysterious places for a spider to be and they have a charm of their own. They are ‘safe’ spiders.

I love real life spiders (so many kinds, so different, and intriguing)…and these bead ones are GORGEOUS! They all look so very real, and your spider anatomy is just very awesome. I believe that one day you will lose your fear and making these is such a wonderful way to do it.

    Looking forward to seeing more.
