This has enabled me to think of other ways to create table skirts without spending a lot of money.

I used a coordinating fabric for one side so I could change from solid to print for different shows.

I had purchased microsuede fabric to do the same style of covers but everytime I tried to sew a hem, the fabric would slide and I gave up. I went to JC Penney and found tablecloths on sale. I bought three for my two tables. I draped one the long way over the front and back of the table. The short width of the tablecloth just fit from side to side. I cut the extra tablecloth into four pieces, one for each end of the two tables and sewed them on as end panels. It worked very well and I didn’t have to hem anything! I would recommend washing first in case they shrink. Someone gave me a tip to roll instead of fold them and they don’t wrinkle.

I had been thinking I really need to make custom covers for my displays, as I, too, have been using tablecloths and they look really messy when the wind picks up. Thanks for sharing!

I went a different route…I have my tables in an L shape with the outside bottom of the L facing front, so customers have to walk into my booth down one side to see everything. It seems to work well, although I do like a U-shape. I just don’t have enough tables. For the cover, I purchased a length of fabric that was wide enough to cover the height of the tables and long enough to cover all the front-facing sides. Then I stitched Velcro across the top of the full length. I stuck self-adhesive Velcro along the top of all the tables. To put my cover on, I simply walk around the tables, attaching the Velcro to Velcro. Works great and is quick. The only thing I didn’t do that you were smart enough to think of is…my fabric does wrinkle, so I have to be careful how I fold it up. But it always has some wrinkles. I like the way you combined the top and sides, too, as well as the gathers at the corners. I have to have a separate cover for the top. I think your research and thought was a little more thorough than mine!

Thank you for researching the fabric…a wonderful choice. The color doesn’t distract from the jewelry, or attract light colored fuzz like a dark or black fabric would.
