I’ve been going over and over Renas tutorial on loops, I practice at night with cheap 20 gauge wire, I’m getting better. Thank you for the compliment on the pearl necklace. My Mom and sister say I’m an old soul. I’ve also had what was meant to be an insult by 1 person in my town about one of my necklaces a month ago. ..she said “it looked too old fashioned”… but to me that was a compliment. Another woman loved it and bought it over a week later.

I hear you on the headpins loops! It really helps to put a mark on your pliers jaws so that you get exactly the same sized loop each time.

Honestly, that is my favorite too because I put more work and thought into it. I’m still trying to improve on making simple loops from head pins and eyepins. For some reason it’s the one thing that I’ve had more trouble learning no matter how much I practice. I went through so many eye pins to get each link just right…it’s probably the most simple thing to most, but for me not so much.

I’ve never been one to wear much jewelry, and when I do, I’m more on the simple, smaller is better, don’t like to stand out type.

Don’t compare yourself to others. It will drive you nuts. Go with your gut, sometimes simple is better. I sell many ‘simple’ necklaces. Never be embarassed about creativity. That’s what makes each of use unique in our own way. I love your designs.

Yes I do keep a journal by my bed. I feel a little neurotic, but for years when I was writing I kept a journal by my bed because I would always wake up in the middle of the night with a thought and I knew I would forget it by morning, or if I have a dream I keep dream journal. Now I wake up thinking about beads, wire, etc….I do get up and sketch it out, but alot of times the next morning it’s not what I imagined.

Also, do you keep a notebook or jewelry journal by your bedside? That way if you wake up with a great jewelry idea, you can sketch it and jot down a few notes about it so you won’t forget.
