Also don’t be afraid to experiment by combining colors that you initially think that would not go together. You may be pleasantly surprised. I do that all of the time.

I’ve incorporated many of the tips you mentioned AM due to cross crafting. We learn so much from hands that must always be creating in multiple ways. Blessings to you!

If you are one of those lucky people who have a great, easy color sense it may be hard to understand how others may be “color-challenged” and have problems choosing or matching colors. Ann Marie has some wonderful ideas but my absolute favorite is about using nature and her trick of relating sampled colors to gemstones. Brilliant! My only suggestion would be to take a photo in addition to notebook notations for reference. Photo, notes and sampled colors could then be combined in a printable document.

Yes, it was amazing, but my take home pay wasn’t great after deductions from my purchases. 😄 But, I learned a lot from the store manager who taught the various beading classes. One thing that always stuck with me was the idea to take color combinations from a favorite fabric. A trip to a fabic store can be a very helpful way to get inspiration. Such a great article, too! To share an idea I learned from quilting, pick a colorful print fabric and choose colors out the print.

I would like to mention two more: 1) packaging that household products come in. Recently noticed distinctive and pretty colors on the artwork of a box of decaf/herbal tea and on the wrapper of some oatmeal soap. Will keep for future reference. 2) local news station weather maps. While being made aware of extended area forecasts found myself admiring the combinations of colors on the maps and thinking how attractive would look using beads, fabrics, fibers, etc. 🙂
