I agree, Dawn, stunning is the word for those images – on so many different levels.

Stunning!

Dawn, thanks for asking! We don’t seem to have that photo anymore here, but I remember it. You can find similar images if you do a Google image search for “monk at Angkor Wat”. I hope this helps! 🙂

Any chance?
Thank you,

We do pieces to reflect all the different parts of ourselves as artists, at different times. This piece, and the meaning I saw in it, is a reflection of part of my life right now. The interesting thing is, I didn’t realize that I had created a necklace to portray that until I saw the picture of the monk and dwelt on it a bit, and connected it to my recent creation.

In the beginning I could not relate it. How powerful the impression of color is! The colors you chose had nothing to do with the superficial color of the monk’s dress- orange. You went beyond it and chose Beauty in Ash. I think it is a powerful piece and very beautiful and deep.

That’s what I see when I look at the picture too, which is part of the reason it’s inspiring.

The photo of the monk at Angkor Wat affected me deeply too. I love how your piece relates to the elements in it. And I love your “Beauty from Ashes” title for a piece with lava in it.

I like the subtlety of the colors in this necklace – flowers blooming and gold lava sparkling out from the silvery gray. It’s quietly powerful.

Thank you for sharing this unique piece of jewelry with us!
