Beaded Cake Testers

by Debra Foltz.
(Central Oregon USA)

I started making beaded cake testers as a way to bring fun and a little bling into the kitchen.

I love the different beads and designs that can be achieved.

Each cake tester is wire-worked into a different pattern and hand-formed by me. The beads are chosen carefully for contrast and/or compliment to the main focal bead.

I use 20 gauge stainless steel for the tester base and 22 gauge non-tarnish silver-plated wire for the bead attachment, using no glue in the process.

What a great idea and such lovely designs! What length do you leave the ‘testing’ part of the wire: or do you make a variety of lengths?
The creativity would be endless in making these – thanks so much for sharing with us!

  • These are so fun and charming, Debra! I’m sure they make baking a lot more fun. A fantastic gift for people who enjoy creating baked goodies. Neat idea!

They all look to have a loop at the top. Is it made of wire?
